Overview

The one-day course will provide a focus on writing for delegates who need to write for varied or specific audiences.  Many of us need to write our own emails, memos, presentations and reports, perhaps even news stories or marketing literature .  There’s nothing worse than staring at a blank screen – with a blank mind!  This course is an excellent introduction to the rules of busin ess writing, a refresher or just a confidence-booster.  Delegates will look at their current writing practices, be introduced to new approaches and exchange ideas.  It includes:

  • How to plan and structure documents effectively
  • Style, clarity and plain English
  • Common errors of grammar, punctuation and usage, essentials of editing and proofreading.

Wherever possible, examples and exercises are based on delegates’ own work and they are asked to bring along examples. This helps them to identify areas for improvement and ensures that the training is relevant. It’s a highly interactive course and there are plenty of opportunities for questions, debate and feedback.

Benefits of Attending

At the end of the course the delegates will feel more confident about their writing, and will go away with handy tips and guidelines for immediate improvements.
