Q: Where can I find a map and venue details?
A:
You will see the venue address, directional information and a map on this page. Should you require any further help, feel free to contact Melcrum directly.

Q: How do I get there by car?
A: Broadway House is close to both Waterloo and Victoria mainline train stations and opposite St James's Park underground station. Nearby there are several hotels with ample accommodation and NCP car parking is available locally.

Q: What time does the training courses begin?
A: Registration for this event begins at 8:30 for a 9am start.

Q: Can you recommend any hotels around the traning venue?
A: Please see below for a selection of hotels near the training venue.

Q: What happens if I haven’t paid before the event date?
A: You will be required to make payment before the event. If you have paid a few days before, please bring a copy of proof of payment to ensure you are permitted entry. Those who have not paid will be asked for a credit card guarantee before entry is permitted.

Q: I have special eating requirements, who should I inform?
A: Please see the dietary requirements form. Please print this and fax it back to Alex Garforth on +44 (0)20 8741 9975. Special arrangements will be made for you once we are informed.

Q: What happens if I can’t make it at the last minute?
A: You may substitute delegates at any time. For cancellations received in writing more than thirty (30) days prior to the event, delegates will receive a credit redeemable against a future Melcrum event. For cancellations received less than thirty (30) days prior to event, no credits will be issued.

Q: Can a colleague attend in my place?
A: Yes this is fine; please inform us of the names of those not attending and the person who will be attending in their place.

Q: Will I receive confirmation in the post?
A: Your invoice for the event will be sent in the post however confirmation of attendance will be sent via email.

Q: When will I receive my delegate pack?
A: Your delegate pack will be handed to you upon registration at the event.

Q: What do I need to bring with me?
A: Melcrum will provide you with the correct writing materials as well as a delegate pack. All venues that Melcrum use have air conditioning in the rooms. If you are sensitive to air conditioning please bring the appropriate clothing.

Q: What is the dress code?
A: This is business casual.

This hotel is opposite Broadway House.   They have 36 or so rooms, which are light, well equipped and nicely proportioned.   Please note it is a pub/hotel and the ground floor is therefore a public bar.   Their current rates for EEF, inclusive of a continental breakfast) and VAT, are as follows.   To ensure you receive the corporate rate price, ensure you clearly indicate you are claiming the EEF corporate rate on the phone and on any confirmation you may send to the hotel.

The corporate rate from the St Ermin’s Hotel for 2008 has been negotiated to include breakfast and VAT. Please book direct with the hotel and state that you are entitled to the EEF corporate rate.

St Ermins is just around the corner; about two minutes walk from Broadway House.

The Rochester is a short walk of about 10 minutes from Broadway House. When booking you should state that you are entitled to the EEF corporate rate reference 5558. This will be valid until the end of February 2009. The rates are as follows and are inclusive of breakfast and VAT. If they do not have rooms available, they have several sister hotels at which we can get discounted rates, so please contact me.

This is a reasonable and down to earth hotel with good facilities but no frills. It is just across the river from the Houses of Parliament so again a short 15 minute walk from Broadway House. Their room price is £99.00 inclusive of VAT until the end of February 2008.  From 2 March 2008 this will increase to £120 inclusive of VAT. To include an “eat as much as you like” buffet breakfast add £7.50.

 

PHS hotel booking service

PHS will make bookings at any hotel on your behalf.  Their service is free of charge as they get a commission from the hotel, however they do offer a competitive service and the rates they get are discounted against the normal rack rate offered by the hotel.   Please quote reference EEFG06 when using this service.    

However please note that if you are considering using any of the above hotels (The Sanctuary, Jolly St Ermin’s or The Grange Rochester) you will need to phone the hotel direct to benefit from the EEF corporate rate.
