Being an effective internal communicator

Black Belt 1 is the original Black Belt course, designed to equip you with the skills and core competencies needed to produce and deliver exceptional internal communications. It centres around three main areas, and gives you opportunity to understand, reflect on and clarify:

  • How to use internal communication to help achieve corporate objectives and add maximum value to your organisation
  • How to develop a structured and effective internal communications plan and measure its success
  • What to consider when developing a plan to support organisational change

Who should attend?

Communicators from different professional backgrounds who want to consolidate their comms knowledge to achieve a renewed focus and the confidence to deal with senior leaders.

Becoming a trusted advisor

Black Belt 2 looks at how you can add value by acting as a partner and advisor, equipping and enabling others to take on an enhanced role in the communication process. Over four days you'll explore:

  • How to inspire trust and respect from colleagues at all levels as a partner, advisor, and someone who has a valuable contribution to make
  • How to establish and follow a consulting approach with internal customers
  • How to use coaching skills to help others develop and enhance their communication approach
  • How to plan and facilitate a group session, such as a focus group or workshop

Who should attend?

Communicators who are capable of creating a structured comms plan and want to improve their skills and confidence around coaching, consulting and facilitating specifically.

Communicators who want to become a sought-after in-house expert in communicating key messages effectively.

Planning the IC strategy for your division or business

This two-day course focuses on best practice around over-arching internal communication strategies for an organisation, division or business unit.

You'll discuss:

  • The purpose and components of an internal communication strategy and the measures of success
  • How and why a strategic IC plan must be tied to the broader business goals and corporate vision
  • How to identify and prioritise the needs of organisational stakeholders
  • How other organisations are approaching their strategies
  • What core competencies are needed to deliver on strategic plans

Who should attend?

Senior communicators who are directly responsible for the over-arching comms strategy of their organisation or business division.
