Sue Dewhurst

Sue Dewhurst - Programme Developer & Lead Trainer

Sue worked as a senior in-house internal communicator for thirteen years before setting up her consultancy business in 2004.

She specialises in personal and professional development for internal communicators and communication-related learning and development for project managers and leaders. Together with Liam FitzPatrick, she researched and developed the first industry-wide competency framework for internal communicators.

Sue is a regular writer and speaker on internal communications issues internationally and enjoys working in partnership with Melcrum in a number of areas. She is a columnist for Strategic Communications Management, and an editorial board member for The Hub.

A trained coach and licensed career coach, she has a BA (hons) in Communication Studies and a post graduate diploma in Public Relations, and is currently studying for an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology.

Formerly Head of Internal Communication and Corporate Responsibility for GE Money in the UK, she has over 20 years experience in the communication and marketing fields. Her clients have included Unilever, RBS, Alliance Boots, Vodafone, Deutsche Bank, Hertz UK and Thomas Cook.

She has a track record of positively impacting financial and operating results with clients such as Abbott, HUB International, National Association of Realtors, Revell and Pepsi Americas, and as a senior in-house communicator for NEC Technologies and Motorola. Julie has published and lectured on topics such as CEO communication, culture development, global communication and internal marketing. An active member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Julie has held many volunteer leadership positions including president of the IABC/Chicago chapter.



Geri Rhoades

Geri Rhoades - North America

Geri has been a leader in the communications industry for over 25 years. She has held numerous positions on both the corporate and consulting sides of the business and has built several communications organizations - including one of the first corporate change management departments in the country.

Geri has an MBA as well as a BA and MA in Communication. In addition, she has certifications in executive coaching, reengineering, and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. She is the former CTO of the Council of Communication Management and the founder of Boston AIDS Africa; responsible for sending caregiver kits to those suffering from the effects of AIDS. She was named one of Boston's heroes for this work.

Terry McKenzie

Terry McKenzie - North America

Terry is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and has 30 years of communication, business and management experience. She has spent time on both sides of the communicator's desk, having led the global internal communication function for a Fortune 500 company as well as run a lively communication consulting agency.

From 2003 through 2009, Terry led the global employee communication and communities organization at Sun Microsystems, a 38,000 employee high tech firm. Prior to joining Sun, Terry led Sheppard Associates, a communication consultancy, from 1998 to 2003. As president of the firm, she was responsible for annual revenue of $14 million per year, a team of 80 consultants, and management of over 50 clients. Terry led a variety of projects for clients including: 3M, State of Florida, Boeing, Sun Microsystems, AMD, BP, First Bank, PG&E, National Semiconductor and Kamehameha Schools/Bishop Estate.



Adrian Cropley

Adrian Cropley - Asia Pacific

Formerly the Head of Internal Communications for major Telco in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands & Director on the  International Executive Board of the IABC; Adrian is a change communication expert and internal communication strategist running his  own consultancy, Cropley Communication. He has over 20 years experience in the communication field in both the private and public sectors. He has worked with a variety of Global clients developing change and employee communication strategies for companies like, Ernst & Young, Amcor, ANZ, NAB & Shell. Melissa Dark
