Sam Marshall has specialised in intranets and collaboration for over 14 years, having worked with Unilever, BT, BUPA, Standard Life and Oxford University Press amoungst others.

His current activities focus on intranet strategy; the growth of the digital workplace; the business side of SharePoint and the use of social media tools for collaboration and communication.

He was responsible for Unilever's Global Portal Implementation, overseeing the roll-out of over 700 online communities to 90,000 people and consolidating several thousand intranets into a single system. As well as running training courses for Melcrum, Sam is also Benchmarking Lead for the Intranet Benchmarking Forum and regularly assesses FTSE 100 company intranets.

In the Knowledge Management (KM) field, Sam led a Unilever initiative to create a comprehensive KM methodology, focussed on KM strategy and Communities of Practice. Unilever was shortlisted for the "Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise" every year from 2001-2006. He holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence, an MA in Psychology and owns more bicycles than shoes!

Sam has been running successful training courses with Melcrum for over two years over a range of topics centered around intranets and Sharepoint for internal communicators.
