Announcing the shortlist for the Strategic Communication Management Awards 2011

LONDON, August 5, 2011

Melcrum announces shortlist for Strategic Communication Management (SCM) Awards 2011.

Today Melcrum unveiled 29 shortlisted entries across 6 categories for this year’s SCM Awards - the UK’s only awards scheme to showcase teams and individuals who have positively impacted business results through strategic internal communication.

This year saw an overwhelming response with 109 entries from a total of 68 different organisations for the following categories: Leader of the Year, Team of the Year, Excellence in Technology, Excellence in Employee Engagement, Rising Star, Business Impact. Nominations for the prestigious SCM Lifetime Achievement Award will be revealed and the winner announced at the awards dinner.

All other category winners will also be announced at the SCM Awards dinner, hosted by BBC presenter and journalist Jeremy Vine on 12 October 2011, the first evening of the Strategic Communication Management Summit in London.

Speaking at the announcement of the shortlist, Victoria Mellor, CEO of Melcrum and chair of the awards judging panel, said:

"While we’d like to congratulate those that made the shortlist, we’d also like to thank the many excellent entrants that didn’t make it to this stage. The high standard of work made the narrowing down of entries an exceptionally tough task. It’s certainly fair to say that adversity has bred highly strategic and creative communication approaches to complex challenges".

The SCM Awards are being run in association with Towers Watson; a leading global professional services company that helps organisations improve performance through effective people, risk and financial management.

Tables and individual places for the SCM Awards dinner can be purchased at:

The SCM Summit takes place on 11-13 October 2011 in London. A full programme can be downloaded at: http://www.melcrum.com/scmsummit/index.html
