Melcrum launches the SCM Awards 2011 in celebration of internal comms excellence

LONDON, April 5, 2011

This year, Melcrum are hosting the Strategic Communication Management Awards 2011, in celebration of the industry leading efforts of their global audience of internal comms practitioners. The awards will take place at a dinner on 12 October, on the first evening of the annual SCM Summit.

These prestigious awards represent a powerful voice for the internal communication profession. Categories for entry are: Business Impact, Team of the Year, Excellence in Technology, Excellence in Employee Engagement, Rising Star and SCM Lifetime Achievement.

Victoria Mellor, Melcrum’s CEO said, "Over the past 15 years, our mission at Melcrum has been to help communicators develop strategies that support business goals. I'm delighted that the SCM Awards will recognise the pioneering work that communication leaders and their teams are doing to support positive business outcomes".

The awards are being run in association with Towers Watson; a leading global professional services company that helps organisations improve performance through effective people, risk and financial management.

Richard Veal, communication and change management EMEA practice leader at Towers Watson, said, "Towers Watson is proud to sponsor this year’s SCM awards. The communication profession shapes our world more than ever. Our research clearly shows that companies that communicate with courage, innovation and discipline, especially during tough times are more effective at engaging employees and achieving desired business results. As sponsor, we are delighted to demonstrate our commitment to the communications industry and celebrate the achievements of the very best that our industry has to offer."

Both Mellor and Veal sit on the awards judging panel alongside other communication experts including Bill Quirke, Rebecca Richmond, Jean Burke, Philippe Borremans and John Smythe.

The deadline for entries is 24 May 2011 with shortlisted entries being confirmed by 5 August, and Award winners announced on the night.
