3 processes to enhance your professional skills

February 23rd, 2010 By Kelly Dyer, Editor
kelly.dyer@melcrum.com

How often do you take time to really think about your performance as a communicator? Do you ever dedicate any time analyzing where your strengths lie, what your weaknesses are or which areas of your professional life you need to improve?

Amid the constant noise of corporate life, I'm certain that time for this is minimal, if it exists at all.

So while reading this week's Source, why not take a moment to consider these questions? In this must-read article on the Internal Comms Hub, owner and managing director of the SD Group, Sue Dewhurst shares her thoughts on three areas of learning that could go a long way toward helping you develop your skills as a communicator.

And, after spending a bit of time evaluating, if you realize there are gaps in your knowledge, why not take a look at the one-day professional development courses that Melcrum offers? On topics as diverse as SharePoint, social media and online video, it's a great way to boost your CV while meeting and benchmarking with your peers.

Until next time,

Kelly Dyer

P.S. If you or a colleague are new to internal communication, why not take part in Melcrum's one-day training course "An Introduction to Internal Communication". This workshop introduces the key components of internal communication, and identifies the hall-marks of high performance, equipping participants with a thorough understanding of the subject along with practical tactics to make immediate difference to communications within their own organization.
