How to conduct a communication audit

July 13th, 2010 By Nishwa Ashraf, Editorial Assistant
nishwa.ashraf@melcrum.com

One battle communicators are always facing is trying to convince senior leaders that the function makes a real difference to their organization, when many still view it as a faddy fix.

It seems that helping to change an organization gives hand-in-hand with changing people's perceptions, and there's no better way to do this than presenting hard facts and figures.

As is the case for Klavs Valskov, head of communication at Maersk Line, who regularly carries out an annual communication audit. Find out how he measured his team's impact and value, to reveal results including how, 92 percent of employees said they understood what the personal benefits of the organization's business strategy were, during a time when Maersk Line was going through the most severe financial crisis in its 100-year history, in Valskov's article on the Internal Comms Hub.

Valskov is also a speaker at our 9th Annual Strategic Communication Management Summit that's taking place in London from 11th - 13th October 2010. He will join a fantastic line-up of speakers and workshop leaders who will share their experiences of enabling communication up, down and across their organizations.

Until next time,

Nishwa

P.S. Whether you're a social media maestro or social media newbie, our forthcoming conference, Building the business case for social media in internal communication, will provide insight to how social media has worked successfully across a variety of sectors. Book your place now!
