Whether you love or hate New Year's resolutions, most of us see the the month of January as a time to implement some changes and improvements in our lives. Personally, I broke my healthy eating resolution at breakfast on New Year's Day, but at work the resolutions are still fully intact. Few of us are prepared to get complacent with our careers, especially since we're finally seeing signs of recovery from a difficult year for global business and employment.
What changes need to be put in place to ensure that this year is better than any other for internal communicators and how can we continue to take the function from strength to strength? There's nobody better to answer this than Sue Dewhurst, for whom 2010 marks 18 years as an internal communicator. In that time, she says the tactics we use have changed, but the foundations that lead to adding value to organizations have not.
If you haven't already made your professional New Year's resolutions, don't worry, Sue has suggested 8 ways we can take the comms profession to new heights in 2010 so that that this year internal communication really does become invaluable to the organization.
Until next time,

P.S. Melcrum's 3rd annual Change Communication conference is happening on the 9th and 10th March 2010 and promises to be the best yet! With one day of case study presentations from organizations like British Airways and E.ON, and the second day dedicated to workshops, demand for places will be high. The early bird discount runs until 31st January, so secure your spot today!
